in order to hopefully strain the importance of this... HOLY FUCKING SHIT...

I was looking for some Android type UI's to replace crappy Manilla and Titanium, this is by far the best looking, I am going to be trying it here when i get a day to fiddle with my phone..

That being said PLEASE dont stop development for WM6/6.5.x phones/devices, I am sorry but I think the WP7 interface is SHIT, PURE SHIT, and the fact that the OS is going to be hardly customizable also adds more STINK to the SHIT making it STINKY SHIT.

I prefer to have my own setup/looks and tweak things to the way I like/want them, with the iPhone and now coming up on WP7 that individuality disappears.

to make the statement im trying to make even more potent: I would rather screw a virgin (pretty or not) chick then screw a chick who is hot/sexy but has screwed everyone else already...

So, tell us how you really feel!

I agree with you, but not sure about how un-customizable the new system will be. Haven't heard alot, just what is posted on forums with folks that don't have the phone yet. I hope that it will be customizable, and that we can mess with it and tweak it to our liking. I personally like the set up, right now I am using a WM7 theme for TL, and I like its simplicity and ease of use. Its been the best set up and UI I have had, and I have tried alot!

One thing I can assure you, there will be folks that can break into the system, and unlock the newest phones. Once that happens, customization will run rampant! So even if its not currently tweakable, I know the brains over at PPCGeeks and XDA will break it pretty soon. The Imagio was a pain, but they got it, so I know they will do it if they have to....or want to!

I hope you're right, and I'm sure people will try however one thing makes me question it. How many custom front ends/hacks, or even internet based applications not authorized by microsoft are there for the Zune HD, once you answer that remember WP7 is Zune Phone.

I bought one a while back to play with thinking since it was based on Windows CE it would be customizeable and I could right all the cool apps I wanted for it. But that thing is sooooo locked down and XNA is crippled version of .net(POS). They made it really easy to right stopwatches and "space invaders" for it. BFD, THANK YOU MICROSOFT. If you can't write internet chat applications you sure can't write driver replacements.

put it this way, the thing this is meant to replace, or more accurately in WP7 the "Metro" interface... I think it looks retarded as hell, and all demo's i have seen so far, the build-a-block shit looks retarded, and from the last blog post i read (also when i stopped reading) said it was there to stay like the iPhone UI, you CANNOT change it, and even SPB Mobile shell will have no place on the platform... (thinks could have changed since that post a long while back, but that was it for me)

yep ill agree with you there, that is one thing that has let me down from full customisation to none is a massive jump! Another is the mass windows live integration, since i sold my soul to google a few years ago android seems a more natural choice for me... and on that you can change the home screen to what you want to use even better imo. When 3.0 comes out then it will be even better as they are making it easier to customise the home screen so updates can be pushed easier therefore win win i think

Well, I am running a windows 7 theme right now, with all the blue (or whatever color I choose) blocks, and I actually like it better than just about everything else I have used. By voicing your opinion on the Metro look, be prepared for some of us to think its great. Its simple, visually easy, and something very different than anything else out there. I have it set up with ThrottleLauncher and they use an active background, which really adds something to the theme. I know I am not going to get one when it first comes out, but I plan on it.

I have always had nothing but luck with any windows product, and plan on sticking with them. If they do put out a lousy product, by the time I can afford it, or my previous contract is over, I will have plenty of warning and not get it.

So what I plan on doing is waiting to see if it truly isn't customizable, and if not, I will continue with my Imagio. If it is, then I will be sporting a new phone within 2 years!
